ONKEL KARL'S - German restaurant in Hanoi

Top quality German food, with the feel of a classic German Kneipe. Enjoyed the Currywurst with fries and salad - great flavour, good chips (just the right amount!) and some healthy salad for balance. Uncle Karl (the owner) is super friendly. He was enjoying a Schnitzel when I came in, which was a good indicator of the meal quality. The space is small, but gives the right vibes and there's plenty of German memorabilia around to set the mood. There's also a range of German and local beers available to round off the meal

Too much rice n noodles in Asia. I was really missing some German food these days! In this little bar you will find it! Big portion and super delicious! The owner was super friendly as well! I highly recommend this place!!

I was looking for dinner place, and then stumbled across this diner. It's a humble space, around 3 tables and a bar available but it's packed. Ordered a pork snitchzel and sausage platter. Each plate has salad and fries on the side. Do mind it is a very generous plate. And the price itself not too bad, spend around 700k VND for 2 plates full of meat.

Needed a late lunch and found this absolute gem in the side street. Carl is a delight and full of information about the local area (I wish we came here on our first day in Hanoi!) We had the wings, (you must try sinh’s chilli mayo!) corded Bleu and a schnitzel. The food was cooked perfectly and sooooo tasty! The German potatoes were awesome as well! Come visit! You will not regret it!!!! (Sorry for the photos with half the food gone! The portion sizes are very generous ) it’s the best meal we have had in a month of travels.
