Sacred Garden - Garden in Hanoi

Nice place to chill and relax. To drink something and talk in a quiet area.

The Sacred Garden is one of those places you don’t just “find”. It’s hidden, like Seriously, properly hidden, down a path that makes you think you’re lost and about to walk into someone’s house…until suddenly you’re not. And then you’re in this lush little garden with a fire pit and the kind of vibe that immediately makes you think this is why I came to Vietnam. The crowd is half the magic. Travellers passing through, Hanoi expats who clearly know what’s up, and everyone seems to have a story worth hearing. If you come as a group, grab the fire pit, But if you turn up solo like I did, don’t worry. This place has a way of pulling you in and making you feel like you belong within about ten minutes. Drinks are excellent. Loads of Vietnam-centric home brews and flavoured liquors you don’t see everywhere else, all genuinely interesting and easy to get excited about. I didn’t try the Mango or Chocolate flavored beers, but then I had to save something for next time. The hosts. Craig and his Vietnamese partner Lan are absolute legends. Just really good humans who make you feel at home without trying too hard. No fake hospitality, just warmth. Off the beaten path in the best way.

We had our daughter's 4th birthday party there and it was a total success thanks to not only the lovely location, but Craig and Lan's help. There was lot's of grass to run around on for the kids and the fire (with toasted marshmallows) was a hit. Craig and Lan were very accommodating, helping set up some juices for the kids and were easygoing when working out the tab. Would recommend as great place for a party (doesn't have to be a kid's one) or just a general hang.

A real hidden gem in the heart of Tay Ho. Wonderful service and an ambiance like no other. Cannot recommend enough!
