Etēsia • kitchen counter + wines - Modern European restaurant in Hanoi

We ate at Etasia on 31 Aug, just as their new menu came out; it’s a beautiful bar restaurant with a menu suggesting a sophisticated palette. But could chef deliver? For starters we had WHITE ASPARAGUS & MORTADELLA CON PISTACCHIO and SEARED SCALLOPs with Lychee Gazpacho. And for mains, SEARED PIGEON with Périgourdine Truffle and CRAB & SCALLOP RAVIOLO on Beurre Nantais. Add a couple of glasses of wine at Happy Hour generously poured and discussed by our friendly sommelier….about A$40/person. What a fantastic meal and as many reviewers have alluded to: a true Michelin experience.

This meal is one we will remember for ever. From the first suggestion of the restaurant manager to the perfect execution of the chef, Ẽtesia is a restaurant that MUST be in your list of restaurants to try. The atmosphere is relaxed, chic and not pretentious. The service is second to none and the food is ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. Please, if you’re ever in Hanoi, come to this restaurant and let the manager tell you what you should try and in what order… I promise you, you are not going to believe what your taste buds will experience. An amazing restaurant, amazing service, unbelievable cocktails and a chef who truly knows his craft and executes everything with PERFECTION.

Great experience with an open kitchen concept. The staff were friendly and always willing to share the stories behind each dish. Definitely worth trying!

We've always loved Etesia for its delicious food and what is truly one of Hanoi's best wine lists—so thoughtfully curated. However, our last visit left us a bit disappointed on a couple of fronts. For a wine list of this scale, we wish there were smoother systems to avoid choosing a bottle that's out of stock, whether by updating the list more frequently or noting unavailable items. It's a small frustration that we feel could be easily solved. More noticeably, the service felt off that night. At one point, we found ourselves refilling our own wine, which was a definite minus for a restaurant at this level. We're sharing this because we genuinely like Etesia and hope to see it shine consistently. With a little attention to these details, it could be perfect again
