It’s less chaotic and the prices are more reasonable than Bui Vien in Ho Chi Minh City. Weekends in Bui Vien are terrible, but Ta Hien Beer Street was great. I don’t remember the name of the place, but the owner was very friendly as well…

Hanoi's most famous street drinking strip, where locals and travelers crowd low plastic stools over bia hơi and street snacks at night.

My Khmer friend and I spent an evening exploring Ta Hien Beer Street in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and it was such a fun experience. The street is full of life. There were small plastic stools, bright neon signs, cold beer, and the smell of street food everywhere. We walked around the area and tried some local dishes. At night, the whole street fills up with locals and tourists all drinking and laughing together. It felt very real and very Hanoi. If you want to visit, just grab a small stool, order a Bia Hà Nội, and enjoy the energy around you. Highly recommend!
Superb vibes. Energetic moments. Lovely music. Safe and secure. Lots of pubs to catch up. Choose the music and vibe to enjoy one or more.
Visited Hanoi Beer Street, and this place is the definition of local vibe in Hanoi. The entire street is packed with small plastic chairs, cheap draft beer (Bia Hoi), and a super lively atmosphere. It feels raw, chaotic, and authentic — exactly what you expect from a real local nightlife experience. Beer is incredibly cheap, and you can just sit down anywhere, order a glass, and enjoy people-watching. The energy here is contagious, with both locals and travelers mixing together. Food options are everywhere — simple Vietnamese snacks, grilled dishes, and street food that pair perfectly with the beer. Of course, it’s not for everyone. It can get very crowded, noisy, and a bit messy. Hygiene and comfort are not the priority here — it’s all about the vibe. Overall, if you want to experience the real nightlife of Hanoi with a strong local feeling, this is a must-visit spot. 👉 Check my profile for more travel tips and exclusive booking deals.
Beer Street is a fun and lively place to check out, especially at night. The whole street is packed with bars, so there’s a great atmosphere and plenty of options to grab a drink. It can get quite busy, with peddlers walking around adding to the hustle and bustle. One interesting thing to see is when the police come through—the bars quickly pull in their chairs, which creates a bit of chaos between them, but it’s actually pretty entertaining to watch. Overall, a cool and unique experience that’s definitely worth stopping by.
