We entered there and was hit with an amazing vibe. The attendee, Ms. Ni, was amazing. Got awesome clicks of us, got us drinks and made us feel comfortable. Will totally go back for the great drinks.

An unforgettable night at The Alchemist in Hanoi 🎷✨ From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was something special — intimate, elegant, and perfectly set for a live jazz experience. The cocktails were beautifully crafted and consistently excellent, but what truly made the evening stand out was the people behind the experience. A special thank you to our waiter @baobe_2611 for the attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly service throughout the night. It made a real difference and elevated the entire experience. And the music — absolutely incredible. The live performance by @hlalah.du was a highlight of our trip. Her voice, style, and presence created such a captivating and soulful atmosphere that made it hard to leave. This is not just a bar — it’s a full experience. The experience was pleasant enough until I encountered the individual guarding the entrance. After enjoying three decent cocktails, I settled the bill and prepared to depart. Upon reaching the exit, I asked the staff member stationed there to capture a photo of my friend and me in front of the bar. He met my request with a bizarre inquiry, asking what my purpose was for taking a photo. I countered by asking what the typical purpose for a photograph might be. He then claimed he couldn't assist because he was working. Such a pathetic attitude; he managed to sour the entire evening and left me regretting the decision to choose The Alchemist for my night out.

Ambience The interior strikes a studied balance. It is dark and moody, yet the brightly lit liquor shelf serves as a dramatic centrepiece, showcasing an impressive array of spirits. The atmosphere is cool and cosy, though the popularity can make it quite crowded during peak hours. Service The service here is attentive and genuinely friendly. The bartender was welcoming and skilled, embodying the professional yet warm approach that numerous reviews highlight. Food/Drink The drinks were indeed good. The classics feel solid, and the house creations show enough thought to be interesting without demanding a degree in mixology to enjoy. The bartender's craft is clearly the main event here, with attention to both taste and presentation. Overall The Alchemist is a nice place to chill, offering a reliably good cocktail experience in an inviting, well-designed space.

Amazing bar, great staff who gave us great recommendations. Came here for the Basil Smash but stayed for the whisky. Wish they didn't allow smoking cigarettes inside which is nauseating, cigars are fine.
