Cafe Phố Cổ - Cafe in Hanoi

We visited Cafe Pho Co while exploring Hanoi Old Quarter. The entrance is through a small cloth shop. You walk through a narrow alley and courtyard before climbing several flights of stairs to reach the cafe. The cafe is spread across multiple floors, and the top floor have a beautiful view of Hoan Kiem Lake. We had coconut coffee, salt coffee and bun nem chay. We loved the coffees, but didn't really like the bun nem chay. Overall, we enjoyed the coffees and the view, but the food could have been better.

Quite a pleasant to visit a cafe which lies inside a traditional Hanoian family home. The warm dishes (Bún chả, bún nem) are surprisingly delicious and can easily rival famous places. The fruit salad with yogurt (Hoa quả dầm) is also highly recommended for hot summer days. We dined on the third floor and sadly didn’t get to see the view of Hoàn Kiếm Lake - maybe one must go on the rooftop terrace to be able to see it.

Came back here twice during my visit in Hanoi. Such a cozy cafe located inside of a small alley. They have 4 stories building and you can choose where to sit depending on the vibe. They serve great coffee and some great food as well! Service was excellent. If you’d like to work remotely, they also provide plugs and fast wifi!

Peaceful coffee shop that’s tucked away. The place has multiple levels with the top floor having a view of the lake. The hot egg coffee I had was good and really silky, it was really strong too 👌 I was hungry so I asked about their noodle recommendations and had gotten something really delicious. The noodle had crunchy peanuts and a very light broth that just goes really well with all the fresh veggies that were provided. It was packed upstairs so unfortunately I couldn’t get a lake view seat but that just gives me a good reason to come back for lunch again 😉

01.03.2026 Insta: torbo_food_adventure Went here to get a break from the busy city. The entrance is pretty small however once you step inside you see that the cafe itself is pretty big. Once you step inside you can order your drink and make your way up the stairs to find a nice spot to sit done. I choose a spot at the top floor where you can have a nice view over the lake. They have quite a lot of plants inside and a few very nice paintings on the wall. I ordered an egg coffee which was pretty good. :) Would definitely come back if im back in the city.
