Looking for a small dessert each. Quite hard to find in this part of Hanoi. Prices are reasonable. I had cheesecake and my wife had the Napoleon Cake. Both very decent. Place was quiet and the service very decent. Enjoyed a visit from the resident cat, who was a very polite boy. He likes the cheesecake as well. We'd come here again. Very pleasant. Cat company optional.

CoBa Crafty - Souvenir store in Hanoi
About This Place
Hàng Gai is Hanoi's silk and souvenir corridor, a street where most shops sell variations of the same lacquerware and embroidered linens. CoBa Crafty occupies number 69 with a different proposition: a shop that pairs locally made gifts with a small pastry counter, giving visitors a reason to linger rather than just browse and move on.
The souvenir selection skews handcrafted over mass-produced, which positions it a notch above the generic gift shops clustered along the same block. The pastry side adds a practical dimension — a place to pause mid-afternoon without backtracking to one of the cafés on Đinh Tiên Hoàng. Nearly 500 Google reviewers have settled on 4.7 stars, a score that holds up even as Hoan Kiem's tourist-facing businesses attract a high volume of one-time visitors who tend to rate generously or harshly with little middle ground.
The dual format draws a specific crowd: travelers who want something to take home that isn't airport-grade, and locals accompanying visiting friends who need a neutral stop that satisfies both shopping and a small food craving. The Hoan Kiem address keeps foot traffic high year-round, particularly from the weekend pedestrian zone around Hoàn Kiếm Lake a short walk south.
For anyone moving through the Old Quarter with limited time, the combination of browsable goods and a quick pastry makes it a practical stop rather than a destination in itself — which, given the density of options on this strip, is exactly the right fit for the location.
Reviews
I ordered the almond croissant, and chocolate mousse. The croissant is supposed to have almond cream inside, but instead it had some sugar paste mix (see photo). The chocolate mousse was ok, but nothing special. The place has good variety, and price is decent for the area. I gave the review based on my personal experience.
This little cafe was a nice treat in Hanoi. It wasn't too busy on Saturday afternoon and the coffee tasted great. I also indulged in a carmel-almond roll - very tasty. The items are baked fresh and you can't help but relax in this cozy atmosphere.
Atmosphere nice, convenient location, but if you're a bakery fan, their treats leave a lot to be wanting. Ordered the cheesecake, and it was mainly cake with a light cream type frosting in a couple layers. Rather dry. The coconut Carmel tart only had some Carmel drizzle on the top and inside was exceedingly dry and chewy. Crust not flaky. The Hawaiian mouse was a very interesting, very light flavor with a gelatin almost chewy type top and cake inside as well. Overall impression of desserts was dry and lacking flavor. Especially for the price and all the high reviews. I will say the desserts were fresh and place was clean.
I just came across the bakery looking for a coffee shop, then I saw their menu outside the establishment. Prices are reasonable and fair as compared to the other coffee shops nearby, the cashier is so friendly that she did even introduce me formally to her cat :) Egg coffee is good, not so sweet, with variety of pastries to choose from. The place is perfect, quiet, good for a morning coffee break and cat photography as well ❤️
