The Story

About This Place

On Đồng Xuân — one of the Old Quarter's busiest commercial streets, steps from the covered market of the same name — Coffee Nang has accumulated 730 Google reviews at a 4.9 average, a rating that takes sustained effort to maintain at that volume. The Hoàn Kiếm address puts it at the northern edge of the historic 36-street district, where narrow shophouses and wholesale traders define the streetscape and most cafés cater to a mix of locals running errands and visitors navigating between landmarks. A score like that, held across hundreds of reviews, points to consistency rather than novelty: reliable coffee, predictable service, a space that does what it promises without overreaching. For visitors working through the Old Quarter on foot, it sits in useful proximity to Đồng Xuân Market and the lake-area sights to the south, making it a natural stop between destinations rather than a detour. The Hoàn Kiếm café scene ranges from tourist-facing rooftop spots to narrow street-level locals; Coffee Nang reads as the latter — a place regulars return to because it doesn't disappoint, not because it's chasing attention.

Amazing hidden gem! Sit on the balcony for a view of the busy Hanoi streets below. There are fans on the balcony that kept us cool while we people watched and drank the best salt coffee ever!

By far the best egg coffee in Hanoi. The egg mixture is perfect, smooth and creamy. Great spot to look the busy streets of Hanoi from above. Plus the lady who owns the place is super nice, always greeting you with a big welcoming smile. 100% recommend.

Cute cafe with a great balcony and view of the busy intersection. We went multiple times during our time in Hanoi, as our hotel was close by. The iced coconut coffee was by far the best we had in Hanoi.

A little hidden gem in Hanoi a little bit. Hard to find but ask the locals on the corner and they'll direct you through a very small laneway and up to a beautiful sitting location above the trees.. the coffee and drink selection is superb and freshly made real Hanoi coffee and great value. We had banana coffee and coconut coffee

Very cozy place. We’ve already come here twice just for people watching. Each time we stayed for about an hour and a half, simply watching life at the intersection - it’s surprisingly fascinating. The entrance is quite unusual and a bit of a quest to find, so pay attention when looking for it! Also, the Coconut choco cold is amazing seriously delicious. 5 out of 5. Would definitely come again
