Golden Silk Boutique Hotel - Hotel in Hanoi

I recently stayed at Golden Silk Boutique Hotel for four days, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is super convenient in the heart of old quarter, and the reception area makes a great first impression. The entire staff especially Thao went above and beyond to be helpful and attentive throughout my stay, and the service overall was top-notch. On top of that, the hotel room was absolutely gorgeous—clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. Highly recommended if you're looking for great service and a fantastic location. Would definitely stay here again!

Location of this hotel was brilliant. Right in the heart of the old quarter. Rooms were good size, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The showers were a little bit on the slow pressure side. But having travelled through Vietnam it would seem that’s everywhere we go.. staff were attentive and helpful. Rooftop bar was great.. and reasonably priced for a roof top hotel. Breakfast was ok, not much variety but we all managed to eat something.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights, and another night after a week were we visited Sapa and Halong Bay. The hotel is very clean and fancy, the staff is nice. The doormen, like Hung, are kind and carry the luggage to the rooms. The breakfast was fine, with the option of freshly made eggs or pho. We were able to leave our luggage here for multiple days.

I stayed at Golden Silk for 5 nights. 2 booked thru trip and 3 that I extended directly. The location is hard to beat. Bang in the center of old quarter steps away from Hoan Kiem Lake. The rooms are pretty tired as other people have noted. An upgrade may help but is not a deal breaker. Housekeeping is great. The pricing is a bit higher online but you can book directly and get a better price. The breakfast is okay, nothing great but whatever is available is pretty good. Restaurant staff is really great. The front staff is a mix with a few ones condescending to borderline rude. Not sure if that's consistent for all travelers or reserved for certain set of travelers. For USD 60 a night i think its a good choice considering the location.

Ok, so I got placed here after a supposed error in booking at the sister hotel Bonsella. We had booked a suire but got landed with a internal room at this hotel for 2 nights. Their definition of Luxury leaves a lot to be desired. Got placed in room 306 which was an internal room, very musty, no windows, damaged bedding, just awful. Ok, so I get the room rate was cheap but it’s all relevant. The desk staff were not really friendly as other hotels. Breakfast was just about adequate again by comparison. The lobby gives the hotel a very nice, upmarket look even, but the rooms don’t match the facade. When it came to paying for room, they argued over the difference between delux and luxury, the cost is less of an issue by comparison to the principle. If it was a sister hotel of the one that made the error in booking, then the company made little effort. To be fair Julie (My Tam) at the Bonsella did everything she could within her role to try and assist us and when we got back to the original hotel we booked she did everything to make our stay as great as it could be. As for the Golden Silk, don’t risk it unless you are going for one of the expensive rooms, certainly don’t book any of the internal rooms! In fact my advice, go somewhere else.
