Kalina Café - Cafe in Hanoi

The shop owners are very friendly and did their best to accommodate all eight of us, even arranging seats next to each other. The space is quite limited, so it is more suitable for a small group of 2–3 people. That said, the coffee and waffles were really good. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a cozy little café!

It was a cold morning in Hanoi, we stopped by this shop for some hot coffee. We ordered a milk coffee and an egg coffee. Total bill VND 95k. We sat on the tiny chairs near the entrance, nice place for people-watching.

The location is absolutely stunning, I'd say it's the best in this area, right at the street corner with a direct view of Hoan Kiem Lake. The owner is an elderly lady, but very friendly and welcoming. The prices are in line with this prime location, and the quality is decent. Sitting here on a cool autumn morning, feeling the breeze, sipping on a glass of iced coffee, and hanging out with friends is truly relaxing. Not gonna lie, I could do this every day, but because it's such a beautiful spot, it tends to get crowded, making it a bit noisy, and I personally prefer a quieter ambiance. Recommended for a stop while strolling around this area.

A small neighborhood café located very close to the lake, just across from the Uniqlo store. The frontage is extremely modest—typical for the area—with only a couple of small tables outside, yet the drinks are prepared to an exceptional standard. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to take any photos, as I was using my phone for something else while enjoying my coffee. The interior is simple in terms of furniture—basic tables and chairs without unnecessary embellishment—but it features a truly striking element: a wall designed with small soil-filled pockets, each holding growing bamboo stalks. These plants develop freely, forming a natural green wall that gives the space a distinctive and refreshing character. All of this is complemented by soft, tasteful French music playing in the background, creating a calm, cozy, and memorable atmosphere.
