I love of bò kho (Vietnamese beef stew). Last year, I spent several months in the Hoi An area of Vietnam, but failed to find anywhere that did it. I put this down to bò kho being a dish more popular in the north of the country. I’ve only been in Hanoi a couple of days, but I made it my mission to hunt out restaurants that do bò kho, and which are well-reviewed on Google maps. Yesterday, I went to Bamichao and had their bò kho. It was quite good, though the beef was a bit tough. I'd score it maybe three and a half stars. Today, I visited The Corner Food. And, of course, I had the bò kho. It was wonderful. The beef was tender, and there was plenty of it. The sauce or gravy was full of flavour. It came with a bread roll. Having quite an appetite, I ordered an extra one at only a small charge. (Eating the crusty bread after having dipped it in the sauce was heavenly!) The restaurant itself is a simple place with an authentic, old-fashioned charm. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The service was quick. While I was there, the customers seemed a mix of locals and tourists. The atmosphere was relaxed. All in all, an extremely positive experience. I very much hope to go there again. Highly recommended. Five stars!

Simply delicious!! My mom and I ordered the shrimp noodle and beef with spinach dishes; the food was perfectly seasoned. The shrimp came with delicious juicy shrimp with heaping amounts of bok choy. My favorite! They have a bathroom for guests as well. Would 10/10 recommend!! You can see how good it was through the photos; we cleared out plates!

We came across this little restaurant when we checked into a hotel across What a fantastic little hidden gem! We had dinner at The Corner Food and were so impressed. This lovely family-owned and run restaurant serves delicious, authentic Vietnamese food, and every dish we ordered was fresh, beautifully cooked, and full of flavour. The bánh mì, beef and mango salad, and stir-fried prawns were all absolutely outstanding, along with the other dishes we tried. You can really taste the care and pride that goes into the food. The warm, friendly hospitality made the experience even more memorable. If you're in Hanoi and looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a welcoming family atmosphere, don't miss this place. Highly recommended! We would happily eat here again.

The best spring rolls I had so far! One lesson learned: find local restaurants like this. Every dish is tasty. 😋 I have been to those fancy restaurants, which unfortunately lack flavors. None has really satisfied me like this one. Recommend!

This was the first meal we had at the Old Quarter. The food was great, reasonably priced, and serving was huge! Juice was quite refreshing too. However, they only accept cash payments despite a display outside saying that they accept major cards.
