Starbucks Somerset - Coffee shop in Hanoi

The long table is where most people work, because it has accessible charging ports. It’s so crowded all the time. Today my computer died and I needed to leave because there are not any charging ports with a working desk. There should be outlets at the espresso bar at least? Anyway the staff are very friendly and nice, outside of that this is probably my least favorite Starbucks.

A large, pleasant, and spacious café — an ideal place to sit with a laptop and work quietly and comfortably, with air conditioning. The food is excellent, consistent with the chain’s standards, and the staff is friendly and attentive.

Starbucks Somerset is truly a delightful spot! ☕ The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the service is consistently top-notch. I love browsing their collection of unique tumblers and mugs too! 😍 The beverages are always expertly prepared, making it a perfect place to unwind. ✨

Poor customer service experience - I ordered and paid for a siphon coffee after staff recommended it as an alternative to regular brewed coffee. After waiting 10 minutes, they had not started making it. When I asked, I was rudely told to wait another 20–30 minutes, which was never explained when ordering. I eventually requested a refund and left after about 20 minutes without a coffee. Very disappointing service and communication.

Compared with many very busy cafés in central Hanoi, this Starbucks offers a more peaceful and predictable environment. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Our order was handled quickly, and the overall service felt professional. Even during busier periods, the team seemed well coordinated and attentive. The coffee and drinks were exactly what you would expect from Starbucks: consistent quality, plenty of choice, and several options for both coffee lovers and those who prefer non-coffee drinks. The food and snack selection was also convenient, especially if you are looking for something light alongside your drink. What we particularly appreciated was the comfortable seating and pleasant interior. It is a good place to cool down after walking around Hanoi, especially during hot and humid weather. The air-conditioning, spacious layout and relaxed atmosphere make a noticeable difference after spending time outdoors. The location is also convenient, particularly for guests staying around the Somerset area or nearby hotels and residences. It works very well as a meeting point or a place to start the day with breakfast and coffee before heading out to explore the city. Another positive aspect is the consistency. While Hanoi has an incredible independent coffee culture that is absolutely worth exploring, sometimes it is also nice to have a familiar place where you know exactly what to expect.
