Hàng Hành is one of Hoan Kiem's more low-key streets, and Lang Biang fits that register — a breakfast and brunch restaurant that has built a steady following with a 4.7 rating across nearly 500 reviews. The focus lands on morning eating and drinking: specialty coffee prepared with care, matcha in various forms, and a brunch menu that covers the hours when Hoan Kiem's lake-side crowds are still finding their pace.

What earns Lang Biang its rating in a district crowded with café options is consistency. Hoan Kiem has no shortage of places selling coffee, but the combination of a dedicated brunch kitchen and specialty-grade drinks in the same room is less common at this address density. The matcha offering in particular signals a kitchen that tracks current café trends without abandoning the breakfast fundamentals — eggs, bread, morning plates — that keep regulars returning on weekday mornings.

The clientele skews toward people who treat breakfast as an occasion rather than an errand: late risers, remote workers settling in for the first part of the day, pairs catching up over long coffees. The Hàng Hành location puts it within easy reach of the Old Quarter without sitting directly on the tourist corridor, which keeps the atmosphere oriented toward the people who actually live and work in the neighborhood.

Had a wonderful brunch here with my family. The smoothie bowl was fresh, colourful, and packed with fruit, making it a healthy and refreshing choice. We also enjoyed the coffee, which was smooth, rich, and perfectly made. The menu offers plenty of delicious brunch options, and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. Definitely one of the best breakfast spots in Hanoi for anyone looking for a tasty brunch, a great smoothie bowl, and excellent coffee. Highly recommended!

I came here with my family for breakfast and had a really pleasant experience. We shared the nachos and bruschetta, and both were delicious. The nachos were crispy and flavorful, while the bruschetta was fresh and light. We also tried the coconut coffee and egg coffee, and both were excellent. With the summer heat in Hanoi right now, the cool air-conditioned space was a huge plus. The atmosphere was comfortable, relaxing, and perfect for taking a break from the heat. If you’re looking for a place to stop, rest, and enjoy a good meal or coffee, this is a great choice. One of the better spots for breakfast and brunch in Hanoi, especially if you’re visiting with family.

Good: Beautiful presentation, good coffee, and a pleasant atmosphere. The Mango Matcha Latte and Salted Caramel Latte were enjoyable, and overall the food was decent. Not So Good: A few small details affected the experience. The Orange & Stracciatella was served with multiple seeds still in the orange slices (we found around 7–8). The Heritage Chicken Sandwich wasn’t cut in half, which made it less convenient to eat. The Grilled Cheese Tacos were the biggest disappointment—the taco shells were cold, broken, and it wasn’t clear whether they were meant to be soft or hard tacos. Despite the name, they didn’t seem grilled at all. These may sound like minor issues, but attention to such details is what sets a restaurant apart. We paid 995,000 VND for six items, which felt slightly expensive for the overall experience.
